During Pregnancy During our two prenatal visits we discuss what you would like from your birth experience. We answer questions, provide information and rehearse comfort techniques for labor.
Labor and Birth Your doula will join you and your partner when you feel the need for comfort and support. She remains with you until the baby is born. During labor and birth she will answer questions and suggest ways to manage pain or speed labor. We use relaxation, visualization, massage, body positions, breathing and attention focusing techniques to help you. We are also there to comfort and reassure your partner and to help them participate at their own comfort level and to the best of their abilities.
After the Birth Your doula will help you through the immediate postpartum procedures and early breastfeeding – usually staying for the first two hours after the birth of your baby. She will also offer to meet with you a week or two later.
Areas served in Wisconsin: Shawano, Green Bay, Appleton, Stevens Point and Wausau
Please note: A Doula offers only non-medical support for the new family.
